Rorce Lau is a Fine Arts Photographer born and lives in Hong Kong. He started as a business executive till at his mid-age, he decided to reconnect with his innate passion as photography artist.
Rorce has background in both sociology and fine arts. He is also inhaling the recent history of Hong Kong. What happened in the last few decades created the paradigm shift and inner dilemma in many Hong Kong souls. Majority of Rorce’s works capture the intricacies of humanity, to be or not to be, as both an individual and social inhabitant facing external forces. The existence of self in reality is illustrated through a photographic language that is synchronously abstract and narrative. His works are mostly poetic and sentimental.
Rorce graduated as Bachelor and Master of Fine Art in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT), Australia. He is currently a partime lecturer at Hong Kong Art School, teaching Fine Art Photography for RMIT bachelor course.
